Ana María Díaz Pinto is a Ph.D. candidate in ethnomusicology at the University of California, Davis. She holds a bachelor’s degree in music with a concentration in musicology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a master’s degree in music from the University of California. Her research centers on popular music and dance in Latin America, queer culture, and sensory ethnographic film. She is currently studying the Chilean reggaetón scene for her doctoral dissertation, with a focus on circuits of music production, dance, and urban nightlife.
